Some of Our Senior Living Activities Right Here in Lancaster

Senior activities at retirement communities should be more than just bingo and card games. As you age, it’s important to continue to be able to have fun and enjoy life no matter what your age or where you live. When you consider moving into a retirement community, asking about what activities are offered should be just as important as asking, “Where will I move?” or “Will I have access to full-time emergency care?”

At Calvary Homes, we offer our residents a faith-based, tight-knit community in Lancaster, PA, with ample opportunities for lifelong learning on our 38-acre campus. From golfing, arts and crafts, to devotion and worship hours, the activities we offer to our residents will maximize your quality of life while still glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ.

Independent Living

We understand the need to live independently and have accessibility to various faith-based events and activities. That’s why we offer our independent living residents opportunities to attend concerts, worship services, Bible studies, and more. Most of the apartments on our campus are even connected under the same roof as some of our common areas, services, and other amenities for better ease of access. Participation in games such as ping-pong and bocce ball, as well as other physical activities, are also popular among residents to help stay fit.

For residents who like to get out and about, there are van ride services available every week to local shops and sites such as Park City Center Mall, Lititz Family Cupboard Restaurant, and Aldi. Just because you live in a retirement community doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy what the beautiful Lancaster County surroundings have to offer.

Personal Care

Here at Calvary Homes, we readily embrace the importance of socialization for our personal care residents. We understand that some of our residents need additional supervision or help with daily tasks, which is why we like to put our residents at ease. When you join the Calvary Homes community, you’ll be able to participate in arts and crafts, attend a variety of community parties, enjoy music from musicians, and continue to practice your faith. We also offer weekly exercises and games help to keep you on your feet and be physically active.

Health Care

You expect and deserve compassionate and personalized care. At Calvary Homes, we add resident activities to make your health care that more personable, enjoyable, and accessible. We have on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as on-site podiatry, vision, and dental services for any of your needs. Our skilled nursing facility is fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services and offers quality care and services. Weekly devotions, wheelchair walks, sensory groups, and other light, physical activities are also available to residents to assist in keeping up with their health.

Garden View

At Garden View—Calvary Homes’ Memory Care Unit—we encourage residents to participate in faith-based events and activities just like those in our independent living, personal care, and health care units. We aim to work together to help promote and enhance your quality of life through activities that will help promote positive memory interactions. Activities include worship and devotions, spa days, scenic drives, storytelling sessions, cooking sessions, and movies on Saturday mornings. We also offer accessibility to music, games, and arts and crafts.

Events Open to the Public

Surrounding yourself with close friends and family doesn’t have to stop when living in a retirement community. Our community offers a variety of activities and events open to the public so you can continue to create memories with those who matter most. Concerts featuring covers of hit songs, special performances of musicals, and plays are available for non-residents to attend. Non-residents can also participate in outdoor and physical activities such as our Annual Benefit Golf Tournament held at the Four Seasons Golf Club and more.

Our activities, services, and amenities at Calvary Homes go beyond caring for our residents. We strive to make our residents feel like an extension of our family to help maintain their spiritual and health needs. With shops and recreation, transportation services, sensory and therapy groups, spiritual sessions, and the ability to remain physically active, we aim to appeal to different interests by being your “Partners in Caring.”
